[filmscanners] Re: Minolta Dimage Scan ELite 5400 II negative carrierslippage

I have the 5400 II. The teeth appear taller on the slide carrier, but
this is tricky since the plastic on the film carrier is shiny while the
slide carrier is dull. The lines appear with vuescan, but not with the
Minolta interface.

The film carrier is marked FH-M20. The slide carrier is marked SH-M20.

At nearly 1AM pacific time, I can't set up a decent full resolution scan
for you, but I have a not so good image handy. [Think night shot of city
lights and you got the picture. The images wasn't sharp, but for your
test that shouldn't matter.]

Fiddling with the levels to brighten the dark image and we get

If the lines are there, clipping the levels at the dark side should
bring them out.

I'll do a better image later. FWIW, this images was scanned on the slide
  carrier.
