Worth knowing. Is this retro-fittable to the LS1000/LS30/LS2000 - which all
used the same design glassless type?

Personally I prefer enlargers with AN glass on the base side, open frame on the
emulsion side, the best of both worlds. There has to be an aftermarket
opportunity here for popular scanners, I'd happily pay 80-100GBP for a really
good metal, half-glass adjustable strip holder which didn't crop.
