[filmscanners] RE: Hello/ routine question

Arthur,

I don’t believe I said otherwise, now did I? I KNOW my scanner is arcane.
It still works just fine, so for now, there is no need to seek another
scanner. Some day, the time will come though, unless I buy a bunch of them
and store them away to bring out when one goes bad. I think I’ll pass on
that...but I do want to get another one to be able to use two.

Well, you DO come up with information about arcane things. I believe there’
s countless examples of that on this list alone!

> The fact that the only way you can cope with having your misinformation

I was unfamiliar with THAT exact scanner (which in my book that scanner is
an anomaly, as far as scanner design goes), and responded in a general way,
that for most scanners, would have probably been a very reasonable response.
I even said in the post I was unfamiliar with the scanner by saying “unless
it’s an older scanner”... and knew I wasn’t an authority on it by saying “I
don’t believe...” “it should be no difference”. I did not claim to be an
authority on THAT scanner.

> corrected by someone is to belittle the person's knowledge,

I give you not only a polite “thanks for the correction”, but also a
respectful compliment as to your knowledge of something that most people (at
least that I know) don’t have knowledge about...and I learned something
from...and you take it as belittling. It was absolutely not meant to
belittle you in any way, shape or form. I EVEN included a “;-)” which is
used as a friendly gesture.

You are way out of line here, and I really think you should take a step
back. I hardly have a fragile ego, and I certainly don’t brag. It’s not in
my character, though you may construe things as such, that does not mean
they are. I have been VERY civil with you for quite some time,
intentionally so. I thought you were capable of doing so as well.

> If I admit your scanner is bigger than mine, maybe that will make you

What would make me happy is if you would participate like an adult, instead
of this little personal attack. Even if I did slight you (which I DID NOT
intentionally do in this case), so what? Aren’t you adult enough to handle
it without this kind of behavior? I believe you owe me an apology.

Austin
