Wouldn't that increase the film density and make it even harder to scan?
Slide films seem to get harder to scan as they get slower if Velvia and
Kodachrome 64 are anything to go by (although the latter is also to do with
the Kodachrome grina structire as opposed to Ektachrome AFAIK).
