I need a scanner with which I could scan all my negatives (about 2000 films)
to have average quality "proofs" or a sort of bigger thumbnails on my hard
disk. My monitor's resolution would suffice (768x1024 or 1200x1600). I
simply don't remember all of my pictures, I want to have them in my
computer.
Although I have LS-4000ED from Nikon, this will not do the trick, cause it
works beautifully but very slowly.
And yesterday I saw Epson 1680XL Pro in action - that was great - the whole
film put into the film holders and left alone till 36 frames were scanned.
That would be exactly what I need but for 1500 Euro it's much too much.
Can you tell me, from your experience, what other scanner would give me what
I need? Epson 2450 Photo? How long does it take to scan those two strips of
neg in 300dpi in batchscan mode?

Nice colors in auto mode also would be nice (Silverfast needed?)

Regards

Tomek Zakrzewski
