I've never known you to ignore a request pitched in your direction and I
didn't expect you to start now :)

And I appreciate this - I knew you had experienced similar problems to
the ones I had with my Elite and now the Elite II so you seem best
placed to comment.

Now this is interesting.  From what I can see, both the Elite and the Elite
II suffer from this as well.  Since I had nothing to compare it with, I had
assumed this was something all scanners suffered from.  I'll post an
some examples on the web when I've had a chance to examine this -
and the other points you raised as well - more fully.

Again, many thanks for your willingness to share your experiences and
conclusions with the list.
