[filmscanners] RE: SCSI Woes

Nikon scan, especially if you are using it through PShop probably won't
detect the scanner without a re-boot. BUT, Vuescan usually does.

Now, this is on Win 98 (2000 doesn't seem to have this problem), but see if
this works on XP

Switch the scanner on

Right click on My Computer on the desktop, go to Properties. Then Device
Manager, then find SCSI Controller on the list and then your SCSI card, so
it is highlighted. Then right click and hit refresh (or if it is similar to
Win2000, I think it's detect new hardware). There may also be a refresh
button at the bottom of the Device Manager Page.

If you are lucky, that will do it! Start Vuescan and it should see it.

Perhaps someone on WinXP can confirm if this works as I have described?
