It seems that I am getting diffrent results for Canon FS4000
Conditions: USB, Windows 2000, 256MB RAM, Pentium III 750, FilmGet

FARE OFF
Preview time    -       25s
Scan time       -       3min 44s

FARE ON
Preview time    -       43s
Scan time       -       5min 20s

I think that with SCSI you can reduce time significiantly.
