Here's my reasoning... the scan itself is not very hard to repeat since
I have all originals and don't do that much to tweak the scans. Redoing
a NEF would be easy: keeping tons of HDs, backups, etc. seems overkill
when I could do them again anytime. Once a file is spotted and
finalized, we've sunk another 10-20 minutes into it and then the time
loss begins to hurt for a re-do.  I'm sure our original slides will long
outlast anything digital I'm doing!
