[filmscanners] Re: Photoshop Gama loader

Paul,

I am running Photoshop 7. The Gamma loader is in my start menu. The
problem was that none of the adjustments in the Adobe Gamma Control
Panel would function.

I did find the problem and the solution may be of value to anyone using
Microsoft's Explorer Trackball. The Trackball has given me grief since
I installed it as a PS/2 input device. Microsoft's tech support advised
me to go into Display properties, select the Settings tab, click
Advanced and then select the Troubleshooting tab. They instructed me to
move the Hardware Acceleration slider four notches to the left of Full.
That fixed the problem with the trackball but, apparently, that's when
the Gamma Loader went south. I moved the slider back to Full, a few
minutes ago, and the Gamma loader is doing what it's supposed to. I'll
try this trackball on a USB port. If that doesn't fix it I'll go back
to my old trackball.

Thanks for the response, Paul. Maybe this will be of value to someone.

Jim
