Sorry for that; I must be confusing you with someone else who only uses
tripods.

I don't think you can get any sort of unaltered file out of Nikon Capture.
It converts the Nikon raw files to tiffs or jpegs, using either the recorded
camera settings at the time the image was taken, or any modifications that
you enter at the time of conversion.

I NEVER use a tripod!  I am aunty-tripod in fact.

If you wouldn't mind, check if you can get a raw TIFF out of the Nikon
Capture software...I'd be interested to know that.  I'll ask on the Nikon
Digital list I am on as well.
