Well, he is trying to bring some convenience to the users, but I doubt
that this will work that way.

Maybe rather we should impose a convention of a subject name prefixes,
e.g. "V: subject" for Vuescan etc., so that the relevant messages
may be forwarded directly a specific folder while the rest to a pending
folder for occasional browsing, including the one called trash for
"no browsing" at all?


Anyway, I think that the enormous interest in Vuescan and the amount
of traffic justifies a separate newsgroup or a maillist for support
of this product.

Maybe Ed should take a look at people like Steve Gibson who runs
his own news server news.grc.com with success. Just add this server
and take a look at the traffic there! People like to talk technology
there because the messages are long living and the speed is excellent.

But even there Steve Gibson was forced to pull the plug on people
talking about politics and insulting each other by introducing a
special group for any-chat and deleting all off-topic messages
till visitors have embraced some charter conforming behavior.
