You don't say which Microtec?  I think you will find that the SS120
resolves grain more clearly than even hi-res Pro Photo CD scans.  Do
you get the same noise for example with Fujichrome Provia F 100?  I
think you're just seeing the grain that comes with scanning color negs
at hi-res.  But I could be wrong.
