I think that was a typo. It's LS4000 vs. Coolscan IV.
The later has 'only' 2900dpi vs 4000dpi for the
LS4000. Also Nikon does not mention a Firewire
interface for the IV. Finally, the LS4000 allows
multi-scanning and has a higher dynamic range
(according to the specs).
