The pictures look the same on my macintosh with a 17" Acer monitor.
The grayscale wedges on the home page show a perfect gradation, too.
This is viewed with Netscape navigator. With Internet Explorer it is
slightly darker, but you have to be very picky to notice it.
By the way, the pictures are gorgeous. Good job.
