[filmscanners] Re: Nikon Supercoolscan 5000 ED



Maybe vuescan will produce better results. I'd say $600 is pretty steep
for repair. Of course, not two repairs are alike, but Microtek only
charged me about $60 to fix my Artixscan 4000t (the old 12 bit
version).[I'm not sure who paid the return shipping.]  I  managed to
whack the film carrier with the back of my office chair, and the scanner
wouldn't grip it anymore. I also got a firmware upgrade, though I never
noticed any difference.

I'd like to see what the fine waves look like.
