[filmscanners] RE: Photoshop freezing

Many thanks for all the help. Here are the answers to your questions.

The scanner connects to a PCI card in the computer with FireWire.

She is using the Epson software that came with the Epson 3200
Scanner. She is not using SilverFast, explaining to me that you use
one or the other, not both.

I don't know how the images get imported into Photoshop.

The computer is on an Ethernet network, but File Sharing is turned
off. It's using the Ethernet only to access the Internet, via DSL and
a router.

Only Photoshop freezes. I installed MacsBug on that computer, but it
doesn't drop into MacsBug, suggesting that the OS was perhaps fine.

The patches have probably not been installed. I guess I should check
to see what there is.

The SCSI IDs and termination are fine. There was no problem with any
other app that I had used on that Mac.

She reported no problems today, so perhaps assigning the new 120GB
FireWire disk as a Scratch disk solved it.

When she is gone, I'm going to have to learn how scan and color
correct myself. It looks like I have a big learning curve ahead of me.

Thanks again

Maaki
