I am doing it with a Nikon Coolpix 4500, a tripod and my calibrated light
table. I 'scan' medium format slides that way,but for 35mm there's even a
dedicated Nikon attachment device.

I feel that my results are very correct if one takes into account the way
they are produced, but of course I do not attempt to issue hardcopies. I am
only keeping medium-res files to show the images and store them in database.
