[filmscanners] Epson 1680 vs. 2450/3200

Hello!

Any thoughts on the relative quality of these scanners for 2 1/4 and 4x5
film scanning? I know the 1680 is "only" 1600 DPI, but I understand that
the cheaper scanners do not reach their true resolution in effective
terms. The 1680 claims 3.6 dmax vs. 3.4 for the other two, but this spec
appears utterly meaningless, since dmin is NOT stated. Price is a
significant factor, but I might spring for the 1680 if it had real
advantages.

Have any of our European posters seen/heard anything about the 3200 yet?
Seems to be taking a goodly while to show up over here.

TIA,
Les
