[filmscanners] Re: Digital Darkroom Computer Builders?

I'm using two 40 GB 7200rpm 130ATA Maxtors linked in Raid O (onboard
Promise) to make my 80GB primary disk for XP Pro. Quite nippy! Then I use
two 100GB 7200rpm 100ATA WD's on a Promise card for data and data copies,
leaving the original IDE channels for CD and DVD. Having each of the six
drives on separate channels means no sharing and speeds things up.

Not just any RAID though, as some slows the system down, and/or simply does
not increase performance. I believe RAID 0 would be appropriate for this
situation.
