I would look at the Acer (Benq) 2740S. That scanner has Digital ICE, is
reliable and produces good scans.

The school I teach at is looking for affordable 35mm film scanners.
Our SS4000 has gone balky. Anyone have experience with the under $500
PrimeFilm/SmartScan 3600DPI scanners? What software comes with?
Silverfast or Vuescan support? Any other options?
