[filmscanners] Re: OT:Great Customer Service

Anthony,

I think you're being a little harsh - you gets what you pays for. My Pentium
4 slows down as it exceeds its optimum temperature, and my MSI motherboard
has a utility that puts up a warning message when the computer box temp
exceeds a set temp, or the cpu exceeds a set temp, or the cpu fan speed
drops below a set rpm, so one can take avoiding action if a fan fails. My
Coolermaster box has 4 fans in addition to the power supply and cpu fan, so
there is built-in redundancy there as well. It is a bit noisier though!!

The problem with all these fancy drives and fast processors is that if any
of the little fans break down, you're dead in the water, with either a
ruined and unreadable disk drive or a ruined and cooked processor and/or
motherboard. I nearly lost my machine yesterday because of that (the CPU
fan failed, after only one month).
