What type of film do you scan?  I got the 8000ED specifically because I want
to scan 6x6 MF images.  I calculate nearly 500 MB for a full scan of a 6x6
image.  I'll be using the PC for scanning only (no Photoshop, nothing else
on the machine), so hopefully 1 GB will keep it happy (?).  I still don't
know if I'll be able to work decently with images on my workstation machine,
which has only 384 MB (and can only be expanded to 512 MB).
