Hi, Dominik,

pretty simple. Just take a dense, contrasty slide and scan it at highest
resolution. Open the scan with your image processing software and
increase the gamma value to about 3. View at 100, better 200 % of
original size.

If there are no visible, periodic artefacts, split the picture into the
RGB channels and look again. If everything's still smooth, you've got
one of the *good* units.
