[filmscanners] Re: Select no compression in VueScan

Hi Reg,
In version 7.4.2; you can turn off the Tiff compression with a check box
under Files. If you do want to use it, you can decide on the amount of
compression by Changing the Tiff size reduction box number.
The version & the user's guide are synchronized. Also don't forget to choose
Advanced under the Device tab.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [filmscanners] Select no compression in VueScan

After purchasing VueScan many updates ago, and now finally
trying to learn it, I find that with the 7.4.1 I have loaded, the User
Guide descriptions of functions available under the different tabs do
not match what actually appear to be available.

My particular problem is that I wish to turn off LZW TIFF
compression because the image editor I am using (Wright Design)
cannot open LZW compressed files. I remember a similar problem
with ACDSee discussed in early Sept/01 and Rob Geraghty wrote
that one can turn off compression in VueScan.

When I look under the FILES tab and select TIFF, I only see
options for filename and TIFF Size Reduction. I cannot find all the
other options described in the user notes; one of which is TIFF
Compression.

Furthermore, other options described in HELP are not under tabs
like DEVICES or PREFS. I cannot find many of the choices in the
actual program that I read about in HELP.

I am using a CanoScan FS2710 on a PC w/Win98SE. Any ideas?
I've clicked everywhere!
