Not seen this, sorry. I have seen vertical banding though - much wider
than a few pixles.

Something in the path would not appear sharp. Polaroid say the scanner
design does not allow dust on the sensor (or it's self cleaning - David
Hemmingway would tell you but he's on holiday).
