While I could be wrong - and usually am, I do not believe that the gamma
control you are talking about here is a component of the operating system
Win 98 original or Win 98 SE.  I believe it is an element of the video card
and its driver and utility applets; and as such will vary from display card
to display card type.

I'm still using <blush,ashamedly> the Win98 bundled with the Dell. 99%
chance it isn't SE. I'm sorry now I didn't get and learn Linux at the
git-go, but that's probably more computing than my "codger" disposition
would accept, anyway. :-)
