filmscanners: Sharpen before retouching

IMO, I think some of us need to make apologies to the writer who sharpened
his image before doing further corrections. I just did it, and while I
wouldn't exactly recommend it as a standard procedure, is *does* have some
advantages:

1) Problems are clearer

2) Problems show up on a less-than-100% view.

Now, for people with smaller monitors than 21-inch, this could actually be a
good way to work. After all, the Sharpening filters are largely reversible.
I'm using a 19", and found the procedure perfectly viable. As I said, I
wouldn't want to use it on every picture, but it's certainly another way of
working. And whatever works, is viable.

Linear-reasoning isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially for
problem-solving. :-)

Best regards--LRA
