[filmscanners] RE: Archiving???!!!

I have found that my drives and software seem to burn TIFF and PSD files at
their own pace, no matter what I select for speed. I have an 6X DVD burner I
use with Roxio. No matter what speed I select, the actual speed is usually
1x to 2x. CDs also burn slower than selected or optimum speed.

I sell CDs on the internet and have used several burners and numerous
software programs to burn them. Have to admit that I have just about given
up trying to burn at the "optimum" speed if I want full data fidelity, and
have resigned myself to burning at 2X or perhaps 4X to get valid data
transfer.

Anyone else find this to be true?

Hank
