[filmscanners] Off scanners- Monitors

Hi,

I'm aware that this is about scanners, but sometime ago, there were some
comments regarding monitors. I have suddenly found that I am in need of a
new one (black is now a dark gray). I recall some comment that LCD flat
screens were not ready for prime time - but I am not sure why. Since I use
the monitor at least 75% for editing photos, what works well with something
like a Polaroid SS 4000 (and Photoshop CS).

Budget is limited, but I like large screens.

Oh, it would be good if I can hook it up to both a MAC and a PC
simultaneously and switch between them - the PC does neural network
modeling, not much monitor time, but very CPU intensive.

Brad
