I don't have that problem. But I set VS to preview @4000ppi then 'scan from
preview', which is much quicker since the scanner only makes one pass. You
could try that. You could also have a look at vuescan.ini (in Notepad) to
make sure it hasn't got garbled or duplicate entries, or delete it - it'll
be recreated.
