I am thinking about getting a new scanner to replace my aging HP S10
Photosmart. I was attracted to the Canonscan based on specs, reviews etc.,
until I came across the actual timings mentions in the imaging-resource
review. He measured between 6 and 12 minutes per scan at maximum resolution,
depending on options chosen.
See http://www.imaging-resource.com/SCAN/FS4000/FS40A.HTM )
This means that it would take well over three hours to scan a 36 exposure
roll of film!

Is that a real number? My old HP does a scan in about a minute (albeit at
2400 dpi and with more noise).

How much faster does it scan at lower res -- or to ask the question
differently -- at what res would it take about a minute for a full frame
scan?
