Out of curiousity, why would one want to archive using "device" color spaces
rather than archiving the tonally corrected "working" color space image and
allowing any translation or conversion to a device color space to be
performed at a later stage when one is seeking to actually output the image
file in accordance with the needs of the particular output device being used
at that time?

Device color spaces are alright for archiving, but they tend not to be
neutral with respect to tonal adjustments ... i.e., you may see a color
shift. Your working space should always be tried & true ... AdobeRGB,
Colormatch, sRGB, Ektaspcace, BruceRGB, ..., etcetera.
