I use anti-newton ring glass from german slide mounts in my SS4000.  I know
they make them in 2.25" size, this is the cheapest and best source that I
know of.

To use glass, I only use the top one just like the Focomat enlarger design
does, makes a great tack sharp scan across the whole slide even if it is
fifty years old and badly warped.
