I've seen the inkjet types stripes too.  I just couldn't find an example
left on my system.

I agree, my banding appears to a "major" malfunction and I'm certain will be
corrected in due course.

At this point I'll drop back to the shadows.  With a little luck my
expensive scanner will return next week and be healthy.
