So what?  How does that enter into the scanning process?  It doesn't!

Need to know WHAT?

There is absolutely NO NEED to understand anything to do with CMYK to scan,
and knowing it or not will not give you a better scan, nor can you show any
need...simply saying there is a need does not make it true.
