I have an SS4000 Plus scanner (same mechanism as the 4000) and went to remove
the slide holder thinking that I had already ejected the film via the
software. In actuality, I hadn't ejected the film but gave the slide holder
a good tug while the 'gears' were still engaged. I could feel the gears move
some and stopped when I relized what the problem was and then completed the
removal using the film eject option from the software. The scanner seems to
work correctly, but I was wondering if anyone knew if this could damage the
scanner in any way, as it seems like it could be a fairly common error.

Howard
