Actually the situation you are describing applies amply to the american
working poor (dirt poor) and the Wall Street financiers who have been
fleecing America as evidenced by the Enron, Adelphia, Salomon Smith Barney,
Global Crossing, and Worldcom scandals. They're the ones that have been
paids like royals.

French incomes are distributed
in a very non-American way, with highly-paid management making far more than
regular employees as compared with the same ratios in the U.S. (i.e., the
lowest people on the French totem pole are paid dirt, and the highest people
are paid like royals).
