Thomas -

I completely missed your kind offer - thanks. And thanks to everyone
who responded. I got zero response form comp.periphs.scanners, and
surprisingly, no response from an e-mail to Ed. But I'm sure he's
swamped. So you guys are it!

I'll report that the problem hasn't recurred, yet. Due to the fact
that I do have a slow chip and not tons of RAM, I've been being very
careful to not run other apps (I had been scanning with my browser and
image editor also running), and to allow crop side redraws to
complete, and so far no problems.

Thomas , I'd like to hear your ides if the problem returns - or even
if not!

Ken
