[filmscanners] RE: Canon FS4000

I'm in the same boat although the Polaroid ss4000 is not to be found.
The ss4000+ is readily available, but out of my price range and almost
$600 us dollars more than the canon. Priced at about the same as the
Nikon LS4000 ED!

I'm actually leaning toward the Minolta Elite II right now, though I
don't need 4000dpi. 2820dpi will meet my requirements.

I too have seen lots of posts about issues with the FS4000, everyone of
them is a complaint of some sort. I find very few complaints on the
Polariod except for concern over the chapter 11 proceedings and the fate
of the scanner division. In fact, most posts often compare their
problems to a Polaroid which doesn't have any. And their support is
supposed to be excellent...

Subject: [filmscanners] Canon FS4000

While I am heavily leaning towards picking up a Polaroid SS4000 as my
scanner. The Canon FS4000 still intrigues me. Are there any owners out
there who compared the two models? Also I have heard a lot about
mechanical problems with the Canon, is there validity to this? Thank
you all for your help.
