How much is "that much"?

When I finally thought to look at my LS-2000 to see if dust had something to
do with my increasingly halo-ridden scans, I saw a grayish haze of dust on
the mirror. Frankly, I was surprised anything was getting through at all!
The effect was indeed one of loss of contrast and a bizarre (non-Leica!)
"glow" around bright objects. No actual imaging of dust specks or anything,
and not really any obvious loss of sharpness that I noticed.
