  If anything like Win2k, ... right-clik "my computer", and look for
"manage".  Start the "device manager" and when it's finished with the device
list, clik amongst the devices and you should see an icon appear at the top.
This button should allow you to refresh the list.

  That being said ... I don't suggest it, and many others do not either.  It
may "appear" to work properly, but we often see "weird" behavior we do not
see if the device is on when we boot.
