LOL  Having owned a Nikon 8000 I can attest that for the money they are in
fact quite good (aside from the banding nonsense).  Is it as good as my
drum?  Not hardly, but ya get what ya pay for.  My real point was that I get
generally better results scanning Portra rather than NPH etc.  Your mileage
may vary.
