I use both. NikonScan3 gives me better dirt/scratch removal with my LS4000
than Vuescan, so I scan with NikonScan3 and save the raw file. Then I use
Vuescan 7.2 to open that raw file,  color process it, and save it in
EktaSpace. That way I seem to have the best of both worlds!

It's not the crashing in NS that's the problem for me. NS has never
actually crashed on me, even before I upgraded to 3.12.

The reason I like VS so much more than NS is because the scans VS
produces are significantly better quality, both in terms of grain
reduction, and colour and detail. IMO, there's simply no contest.
