I've been using the FS2710 for about 6 months now, and I'm overall
very happy with it.  I'm told by the knowledegable folks on this list
that to get *significantly* better output I'd probably have to go to
mid-four figures.  I paid $300 US for a 2nd hand one, and it hasn't
given a hint of trouble.  I use it exclusively with the Vuescan
software.  Everything in the web folio that's in my sig line was
scanned with it.   Very small desk footprint, too.
