With some exceptions, most of the 17-18" LCD's are 1280 x 1024, most of the
20-23" LCD's are 1600x1200.
There are some 20"+  LCD's that go higher, such as 2048 x 1536.

If you want the best, IBM has a 9 million pixel display, which is a real
bargain at $18,000. Get two and use one for your Photoshop menus.
