You might try setting the Batch Scan option to "list" rather than "batch",
and when you specify frame numbers in the Batch List item, include a
rotation modifier (eg, "1L,2,3,4L").

This gets me the rotations when scanning a strip on my Photosmart. I notice
when I use the List option that the Frame Number and Rotation items
dynamically are updated as the scans proceed to reflect my specified frame
numbers and rotation modifiers in the Batch List.

(I'm having my own set of puzzles with Viewscan though - trying to use the
"scan from Preview" option doesn't seem to work for me. On the Photosmart,
I understand I can avoid doing two physical passes across the negative strip
by specifying a (higher) preview resolution and having the software just
"scan" the preview memory buffer. But for me it re-scans the physical strip
for each frame.)

A few full-versions of Viewscan back, I tried a few of my old slides -
Kodachrome II's I think they were - I got rather faded (too light and
green-casted) scans. I mean to try them again using the Restore Colors or
Fading filters, but I've also got a lot of mould damage on my old slides
that I really need to address first.

Also, my understanding is that the dynamic range of the Photosmart is good
enough for negatives, but not that good for slides, so I would expect it to
have problems seeing into the shadows of dense slides. Of course I'm not
sure how relevant my experience might be to your Dimage Scan Dual II.

Could be the one in the Japanise Tea Garden in GGPark.

I could provide a dozen bridges across the bay or estuaries confluent
thereto - just tell me what POV, what resulution, etc.
