David:

Don't let the folks on the Filmscanners list intimidate you (although you
really should check out the User's Manual). They have been scanning and
using VueScan for a long time. Ed Hamrick's sparse prose style works well
for those who are experienced and can read between the lines and fill in the
blanks. Ed has given many excellent and detailed technical responses to
questions on this list and on the <comp.periphs.scanners> list. Myself
among others have encouraged Ed to incorporate parts of these responses or
add a little more detail to the Manual especially to help new users. Often
just one additional explanatory sentence or example would turn the lights
one in many folk's heads.
