[filmscanners] Re: Epson Photo 2450 cross hatching

I've had my 2450 for about a month, and I have scanned 645, 6x7, and 4x5
negs and transparencies, and have not witnessed what you are referring
to..I'm using Vuescan for all..

Subject: [filmscanners] Epson Photo 2450 cross hatching

Has anyone using the Epson 2450 tried scanning MF or LF negs/trannies?

Have you noticed if it has the same banding/cross hatching problem the 1640
has in light, even areas - skies, walls etc.

(this is a fundamental flaw caused by the cross hatch array of the flat cold
cathode fluorescent tube in the light cover showing up in the scan due to
lack of sufficient diffusion and/or distance).

I'm thinking of dumping the 1640 because of this and going to the 2450 - but
not if it has the same problem...!
