That's quite a legitimate thing to do (Windows will/should automatically
re-organise itself when you do this), and a SCSI card will often cause
problems with video if it's in a PCI slot that's "paired" with the one the
video card is in.

Note this applies even if you have AGP video -- don't ask me why...

On my 6 months old Athlon machine SCSI cards will only work in PCI slot 5
under Win98SE -- will work in *any* slot under XP.

On my older unit (Gigabyte HX2 -- HX chipset, AMD K6-2/400, no AGP, 4 years
old) any PCI SCSI card will work in *any* PCI slot under either OS.

Go figure...

Have you tried removing both the SCSI card *and* the video card via Device
Manager, so that Windows finds new locations for both when you restart?

Often works.

If you do this you'll probably have to reset your screen resolution etc.,
but that should be all.
